Pets Can Be Very Beneficial

A number of seniors live alone, which is something that can contribute to feelings of isolation. While not all seniors want to live in an assisted living facility, there are other ways to keep someone from being at home alone. Studies have shown that pets can have a very positive impact on the well being of seniors.

Not all seniors may be able to care for dogs, but there are other types of pets, such as cats, that can provide companionship. Any senior that lives on their own should consider inviting a pet into their home.

Although aging and mental health aren’t always talked about together, these are subjects that are important to ignore. Many seniors struggle with mental health issues, such as anxiety and depression, and many of those seniors won’t seek support. It’s important to fight against the stigmas of mental health issues and ensure that every senior can enjoy their golden years.
